Any help welcome in identifying this bird inside the harbor.I know this one, a sparrow, “passerotto” in Italian. The lord of this dumpster didn't like my intrusion...
I think we know the third one also. This is a great shot, with the clear eyes just showing and that attitude! Our seagulls just fly away. The sparrow is very cute, and that first one is really striking with the white mask. We're more used to seeing dark masks on an animal's face. I like the blurred background and the rest in focus.
The first two are so cute and round! And no, the lord definitely does not like your disturbing his meal. If he had eyebrows, one would be raised at your presumption.
I don't know what the first one is, but he is a cute little fellow. All three birds seem to be posing, even though the third one is definitely not happy with you!
I knew the sparrow and the gull but not the first one. Nice shots of our feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteDovrebbe essere una ballerina bianca, più comunemente detta batticoda.
ReplyDeleteThese are really nice. I like the top one because I'm not familiar with that kind of bird.

ReplyDeleteSorry I don't know the little fellow up there, he's so cute!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am not very good at names..... but I know that birds who went south, to avoid the winter here, might be on their way north again soon....
ReplyDeleteI know this bird in the first photo, but don't remember it's English name - sorry.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos,I like the birds so much:)
Nice week to you!
I didn't know a seagull could look so mean! But the other two birds are very cute :)
ReplyDeleteHi VP, the cute little first bird made me TOO Curious to not Google and find out the name. Google says it's "Enicurus scouleri" :-)
ReplyDeleteNice shots!
That gull seems to have quite an attitude.
ReplyDeleteThe "lords" usually like to dine alone.

ReplyDeleteAh, the feathered squad of Livorno. I also prefer the top two little guys over the Lord. Let him keep his manor - I don't mind!
ReplyDeleteGreat bird shots! The first one is so cute that it almost looks like a cartoon! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know the name of the first one but I like it, looks really cute, small and fragile. I'm guessing you're using zoom for these pictures?
ReplyDeleteI don't know his name but it's so beautiful!!!
ReplyDelete:-)
Following Stefano's tip, the English name for the first bird would probably be “wagtail”.
ReplyDelete@ JM - My first thought was the same...
@ Andreea - I use a Canon SX20, which has some zoom for a bridge camera, but these little guys come very close, at least inside the harbor.
il primo uccellino sembra così intirizzito!
ReplyDeletesempre belli da guardare.
ciao simona
Lord of the dumpster... How fitting!
ReplyDeleteBirs are coming back to announce spring!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

Can't tell a parrot from an albatross, but these birds are cute. Love the bottom pigeon.
ReplyDeleteA masked bandit bird?
ReplyDeleteGulls are an easy capture but tiny birds always fly away when I try to take a picture of them. MB
