Maybe this is not a great reflection, but I liked the image.

  1. Superb. That is such a hard shot to get sharp. These darn gulls just don't care about staying still for a photographer!

  3. I think it's a fine reflection. And I also like the picture! It's the feathered squad!

  4. Wonderful capture. I like how they are suspended in the moment.
I like the word 'gabbiani' ... in Croatian, they are 'galebi'.
Oliver Dragojevic has a song "Moj Galebe" - my seagull. I was trying to find a youtube version of the concert in Pula, but there is not one for that song...here is the one in Vienna - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzyJtrOkhTE

  6. It's the reflection that counts. It doesn't have to be spectacular. I must agree I really like the image too. It's the same for my Swan reflection the image as a whole is much better than the reflection imo.

  10. Could it be that spring is in the air? We had gulls inland this week, all havering over McDonald's, seemingly hoping for someone to toss them french fries.

  12. Moving birds are so difficult to catch! You made a great picture, even if reflection is not the more attractive point.

  14. that is some bright white from the gulls body that is reflected, so it's all good!. love the way you managed to capture them with landing gear down, so to speak!

  15. I actually like the distorted reflection. And the image is fantastic! You even managed to catch the drops of water from the gull's bill. Great capture! Kathy

  18. Very skilled photo! Both gulls are going down for the same prey it seems.

  19. Great shot! I love how they're in mid-flight right above the water :)

  20. Forget the reflection - you can almost hear them flapping their wings!!

  21. It is an excellent reflection. The reflection is subtle (that's a good thing) but more important is the wonderful image itself.

  22. Great picture! I don't think we have this kind of seagull here.

  23. I like the image, too, and technically, it is a reflection :) Lovely. And the guls look so different from ours, although you have some similar, too. Perhaps you have several species in your area.

  24. I think I see a bit of white from the gulls reflected on that beautiful water! That is an amazing shot VP.
