Wonderful capture. I like how they are suspended in the moment. I like the word 'gabbiani' ... in Croatian, they are 'galebi'. Oliver Dragojevic has a song "Moj Galebe" - my seagull. I was trying to find a youtube version of the concert in Pula, but there is not one for that song...here is the one in Vienna - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzyJtrOkhTE
It's the reflection that counts. It doesn't have to be spectacular. I must agree I really like the image too. It's the same for my Swan reflection the image as a whole is much better than the reflection imo.
Could it be that spring is in the air? We had gulls inland this week, all havering over McDonald's, seemingly hoping for someone to toss them french fries.
that is some bright white from the gulls body that is reflected, so it's all good!. love the way you managed to capture them with landing gear down, so to speak!
I actually like the distorted reflection. And the image is fantastic! You even managed to catch the drops of water from the gull's bill. Great capture! Kathy
this is beautiful. I love the blue glow under the birds wings. that must be a reflection of the spectacular blue water. this is a good one to click on & enlarge.
I like the image, too, and technically, it is a reflection :) Lovely. And the guls look so different from ours, although you have some similar, too. Perhaps you have several species in your area.
Superb. That is such a hard shot to get sharp. These darn gulls just don't care about staying still for a photographer!
ReplyDeleteOh really a beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image indeed! I love the rippled water.
ReplyDeleteMine’s here: Carletta’s Captures.
I think it's a fine reflection. And I also like the picture! It's the feathered squad!

The waves are self-reflecting! Beautiful action shot!

ReplyDeleteMoving birds are so difficult to catch! You made a great picture, even if reflection is not the more attractive point.
ReplyDeleteWhat animated dancing partners.
ReplyDeleteA ballet reflected. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like the image too!

Love it! And the light in Livorno is simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteVery skilled photo! Both gulls are going down for the same prey it seems.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I love how they're in mid-flight right above the water :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a great shot :)
ReplyDeleteForget the reflection - you can almost hear them flapping their wings!!
ReplyDeleteIt is an excellent reflection. The reflection is subtle (that's a good thing) but more important is the wonderful image itself.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! I don't think we have this kind of seagull here.
ReplyDeleteI like the image, too, and technically, it is a reflection :) Lovely. And the guls look so different from ours, although you have some similar, too. Perhaps you have several species in your area.
ReplyDeleteI think I see a bit of white from the gulls reflected on that beautiful water! That is an amazing shot VP.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, I like how they look frozen in the air.
